DAY 1

Sweet start at Underbrink’s Bakery. Enjoy a “radio roll” while long time owner Leroy gives an entertaining behind-the-scenes tour of this 1929 bakery where many of the original recipes and equipment are still in use.

Directly across the street is the magnificent St. Francis Solanus Church. Tour the stunning interior of this 1884 Gothic Revival structure, adorned with murals and extensive white marble.

Lunch at the Pier Restaurant, cantilevered over the Mississippi, specializing in creative Midwestern cuisine. Head east on Quincy’s renowned Maine Street to the Quincy Museum, formerly the Newcomb Stillwell mansion. The first floor is restored to period late 1800’s, while the two upper floors are rotating exhibits. Round out the afternoon with a driving tour of the city. Step on guide will highlight the rich historic and architectural gems. Dinner at Tiramisu, an authentic, locally owned Italian restaurant in a restored downtown building.

DAY 2

Wake up with coffee and a light breakfast at the Granite Bank Gallery, built of pink Missouri granite, formerly a savings & loan. Now home to cafe, art gallery & home decor store, complete with original vaults.

Directly across the street is historic Washington Park, the hub of the sixth Lincoln-Douglas Debate, as well as many art & music fests. Peruse the beginning of the Lincoln Storyboards Trail.

Head down beautiful Maine Street to three exclusive Private Home Tours in the East End Historic District. These tours have received rave reviews. Each home is an architectural standout, arranged in neighborhood groupings for ease of touring.

Lunch at ONE Restaurant & Bar, in the former Basco Theatre building, complete with original balconies, an upper and lower bar, and excellent Thai & American cuisine.

A short stint to another historic downtown structure, Gallery Solaro. Formerly Dick Brothers Brewery in the German Calftown District, now home to an expansive gallery, showcasing nationally acclaimed artists.

Meander to nearby Spirit Knob Winery for a relaxing glass of Illinois wine while taking in breathtaking Mississippi River valley views.

DAY 3

Morning hours are magnificent on the Mississippi River bluffs, especially from the vantage point of Quincy’s 1900 Mediterranean castle, the Villa Kathrine. Following your castle tour, head out on the Great River Road to the historic Warsaw Brewery for lunch.

Admire the broad expanse of the river & massive lily pads on the way to Nauvoo, IL, a distinctively restored riverfront town, complete with over 40 shops and homes that include period furnishings and guides. Enjoy a complimentary horse-pulled wagon ride and educational tour of the city year-round. A bountiful dinner awaits at the Historic Hotel Nauvoo, nationally known for its award-winning buffet. The restaurant boasts five dining rooms, each reflecting a different era of Nauvoo’s rich history. Night caps are in order at the new Wine Barrel at Baxter’s Vineyards, Illinois’ oldest winery.

Day One

Upon arrival, head to the Tennessee Aquarium to discover giant catfish, feisty otters, fierce sharks, mysterious jellyfish, playful penguins and a rainforest filled with hundreds of free-flying butterflies. Meet our new animal encounter specialists who bring dozens of cool critters into aquarium galleries to meet guests face-to-face. Just a block away from the Tennessee Aquarium, you can plunge into an amazing underwater adventure or travel to the farthest reaches of the universe at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX®3D Theater where the screen is six stories tall, the largest in the

“Nothing could be finer” than to dine at the Choo Choo Terminal Station. The Choo Choo opened in 1909 as a terminal station; it now houses several restaurants, intriguing shops and a world-famous miniature train display.

Day Two

Begin your day bright and early on the way to historic Lookout Mountain.

A fascinating underground experience begins your day on the mountain. A guided tour of Ruby Falls takes you along a level, paved walkway, revealing a beautiful cavern with unique formations and spectacular 145’ waterfall. Afterwards, view Chattanooga from their Lookout Tower.

Prepare for a thrilling ride on “America’s Most Amazing Mile,” the Incline Railway. The world’s steepest passenger railway takes you “above the clouds” to the highest point on Lookout Mountain. Board the Incline at the lower station.

A short drive leads you to the Battles for Chattanooga Museum. This 3-dimensional presentation of Chattanooga’s Civil War history features miniature figures, lights and sound effects detailing the major battles fought here in 1863.

Walk across the street to Point Park, the famous site of the Civil War battle known as the “Battle Above the Clouds.” The park also offers you a magnifi cent view of Chattanooga and its surrounding mountains.

View beautiful homes on your way to Rock City Gardens. You can enjoy lunch on your own at the Big Rock Grille before you begin your tour at this unique garden. You will stroll between huge boulders and down the garden pathway which gives this geological wonder its name. Your view of seven states from Lover’s Leap will highlight your walk.

Your next adventure will be at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. Here you will tour 40 acres of railroad history on a historic steam locomotive, traveling along a 6 mile loop on the pre-Civil War rail lines in Chattanooga.

Enjoy dinner and dancing while cruising down the scenic Tennessee River aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat.

Day Three

Depart for the Bluff View Art District. Enjoy this turn of the century neighborhood with a gallery, sculpture garden, coffeehouse and bakery. Then, tour the Hunter Museum of American Art, where you can enjoy a scavenger hunt. Have lunch on your own. Head for home with great memories of Chattanooga.
